Universal 400mm IR / Fiber Laser Engraver Enclosure – 1064nm Safe
The Universal 400mm IR / Fiber Laser Engraver Enclosure by Clearview Plastics is a made-to-fit safety and ventilation upgrade built for open-frame IR / fiber laser engravers — the 400mm-class, CNC-style gantry machines that run a 1064 nm infrared laser head. Unlike a blue diode, a 1064 nm beam is completely invisible, reflects off the very metal you're marking, and demands real containment. This enclosure is purpose-built for it, with a 1064 nm-rated viewing window and aluminum-lined composite panels that absorb stray beams — plus full fume and soot control.
Designed and CNC-cut in the USA, this "set-over" tabletop enclosure drops right over your engraver and holds it in a sealed working envelope. It has a 750 x 755 x 405 mm (29.5" x 29.75" x 16") external footprint and is framed in rigid 2020 aluminum extrusion, leaving an internal working area of roughly 740 x 745 mm with about 400 mm (15.75") of height — room for the gantry, the rotary, and a tumbler. If your open-frame IR / fiber engraver fits within that footprint, this enclosure is designed to work with it. It assembles in minutes with a screwdriver and Allen key and requires zero modification to your machine.
Built for 400mm open-frame IR / fiber engravers
These are the CNC-style gantry machines running a 1064 nm fiber head — not galvo markers. The IR / Fiber V3 is sized and shielded for exactly these, including:
- Atomstack A20 Pro (1064 nm, 400 × 400 mm)
- Atomstack A24 Pro (1064 nm, 365 × 305 mm)
- Sculpfun A9 Ultra (20W fiber / 1064 nm, 400 × 400 mm)
- xTool D1 Pro fitted with the 1064 nm IR module
- Atomstack A40 Pro V2 fitted with a 1064 nm IR head
- Most other 400mm open-frame engravers running a 1064 nm IR / fiber head

Why 1064 nm needs a different enclosure
A 1064 nm fiber beam is invisible near-infrared. Your blink reflex never fires because your eye never registers a flash, and the beam reflects off metal workpieces in directions you're not looking — which is exactly why open-frame IR engraving is riskier than diode work. Critically, the amber acrylic panels used on diode enclosures block blue light (~450 nm) but do nothing at 1064 nm. This enclosure is built for IR: aluminum-lined composite panels absorb stray and reflected beams, and a 1064 nm-rated viewing window lets you watch the job while the infrared stays inside the box.
Deploys fast and works with your workflow
This enclosure was engineered around how open-frame fiber owners actually run jobs — not just to be a box:
- Quick to deploy — no part swaps or permanent modifications. A screwdriver and Allen key are all you need, and the set-over design means you can lift it off for maintenance or transport.
- LightBurn-compatible hood camera — an optional USB camera mounts to the lid for accurate part alignment and LightBurn tracing without opening the enclosure.
- Rotary-ready — about 15.75" (400 mm) of internal height clears the rotary and the laser head, with room for objects up to an 80 mm tumbler or ring mandrel.
- Adjustable airflow vents — offer control over airflow volume and direction for cleaner, more efficient extraction.
- 3 wire grommet ports — feed in wires, air-assist tubing, and anything else that needs to pass into the enclosure.
- Dual access doors — magnetically latched front and top doors make loading and adjustments easy.
Contain the beam, smoke, and soot
Open-frame 1064 nm fiber engravers are rated Class 4 — the highest laser hazard class — and marking metal releases fine particulate and fumes you don't want to breathe. The IR / Fiber V3 gives you real containment on both fronts:
- 1064 nm-rated viewing window — watch the job in real time while the invisible infrared beam is blocked.
- Aluminum-lined composite panels — absorb stray and reflected 1064 nm energy instead of passing it into the room.
- Two 4" exhaust ports — select which side vents to best suit your workspace, connect a flexible 4" hose, and route smoke and fumes out a window or to a filter. Pair it with a 95 CFM or 200 CFM fan, our window exhaust kit, or PrintPRO 3 filtration for the level of extraction you need.
- Adjustable airflow vents — fine-tune airflow volume and direction for efficient source capture.
- BOFA PrintPRO 3 compatible — integrate a professional fume-filtration system for indoor operation without external venting.
Important: even with a 1064 nm-rated window and beam-absorbing panels, always wear OD-rated 1064 nm safety glasses while the laser is in use, and never defeat your machine's interlocks. This enclosure is designed to contain 1064 nm energy and fumes, but it is not certified to ANSI standards and does not reclassify your Class 4 laser. Frequently asked questions
Does this enclosure block the 1064 nm laser?
It's built to contain it. The aluminum-lined composite panels absorb stray and reflected 1064 nm energy, and the viewing window is rated for 1064 nm so you can watch the job without the infrared passing into the room. That said, always wear OD-rated 1064 nm safety glasses while the laser runs — the enclosure is designed to contain IR but is not certified to ANSI standards and does not reclassify your Class 4 laser.
Can I use the amber diode panels instead?
No. Amber acrylic blocks blue diode light (~450 nm) but does not block 1064 nm infrared. IR requires opaque, absorptive panels and a 1064 nm-rated window — which is exactly what this enclosure uses. If you run a diode head, see our diode Universal V3 enclosure instead.
Will my open-frame IR machine fit?
The enclosure has a 750 mm W x 755 mm D x 405 mm H external footprint, leaving roughly 740 x 745 mm and about 400 mm of height inside the frame — sized for 400mm-class open-frame IR / fiber engravers like the Atomstack A20 Pro, A24 Pro, Sculpfun A9 Ultra, xTool D1 Pro (+IR), and Atomstack A40 Pro V2 (+IR). If your model isn't listed, send us your machine's frame dimensions and we'll confirm fit before you order.
Does it have an exhaust port for smoke and fumes?
Yes. The enclosure includes a 4" exhaust port to connect a flexible 4" hose and vent outside. From there, add the fan setup that fits your workload: a 95 CFM exhaust fan (includes the mounting bracket) for light-duty use, a 200 CFM compact fan for added air circulation, or our window exhaust kit — an inline fan, window insert, and 16 feet of hose. If venting outside isn't possible, add a BOFA PrintPRO 3 filtration unit to clean the air indoors.
Is there room for a rotary?
Yes. The internal height (about 400 mm / 15.75") clears the rotary and the laser head, with enough room to engrave objects up to an 80 mm glass, tumbler, or ring mandrel.
What's included, and what do I supply?
The base kit includes the composite panels, viewing window, and hardware; you print the brackets from the included files. Add our pre-printed parts for a complete kit. In all cases you supply a 4" dryer hose, and for heavy use we recommend adding an inline exhaust fan.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Shipping is calculated at checkout via USPS/UPS/FedEx (HS code 8538.10). Express services often cover import fees, but additional VAT, tariffs, or fees may apply depending on your country.
What is your return policy?
We offer a 30-day return policy. Unused, undamaged panels with the masking fully attached are eligible for a full refund less return shipping. If panels are damaged after shipment or the protective mask has been removed, we can't offer a refund. To check fitment, consider partially assembling with the mask still on — if it isn't for you, you're still eligible for a full refund.
Why do the product photos vary slightly?
We update and improve our enclosures often, and as a small business a fresh photoshoot for every iteration isn't realistic. Function is always constant or improved. For the clearest picture of the current version, rely on the renderings rather than the photos.
